These new stories will detail the relationships between the different girls and explain how the literature club got started during the hours of new story content. Literature Club Plus updates all the in-game visuals to full HD (1080p), which is much appreciated considering that the update also adds six brand new side stories. Not only does the second release give new players a chance to (literally) jump into the world of Doki Doki Literature Club, but it also brings plenty of new content for old fans to enjoy. If you did miss this crazy game, you’re in luck, because Doki Doki Literature Club Plus is coming out this week. You’d be forgiven for missing out on it upon release, though, considering that the game’s ad campaign marketed it as a basic visual novel about writing poetry with the occasional warning about… unnerving material. The game blended cutesy, romantic visual novel-like design with deeply rooted psychological horror in a way that simply shouldn’t work– and yet it absolutely does. After its’ release in late 2017, to say that Doki Doki Literature Club broke the internet would be an understatement.
