How do you like to play SShock 1? Do you use the standard pseudo WASD controls or have you remapped them instead? Do you use CTRL/SHIFT/etc for leaning, running, and all that good stuff? Do you dominate the keyboard, use the mouse to walk around, or perhaps even hold onto an old joystick you love? Or are you weird like me, only utilizing 9 buttons on the far side of the keyboard that no one really uses for anything else? Now let's get to the meat of this thread already, the questions. It's such a tedious way to play, having to use the mouse for so many things! I'm not even using the mouselook mod! I'm probably crazy, because it's a very comfortable way for me to play.and I settle right into it. Everything else (leaning, looking up/down, equipping items) has to be done with the mouse. My left hand controls the numpad just for walking, running, and strafing. Almost the entire keyboard is utilized!Īnd with that, I think I have a strange way of playing this game. This, combined with Shock 1's complex gameplay and interface, led to quite some complicated controls being implemented into the game. As you know, System Shock was shaped out of clay by Looking Glass's talons in a time when the first person shooter genre was in its infancy.
